What is Vastu Shastra?
Vastu Shastra literally means the science of Architecture. It’s a tradition developed in India and basically followed by Indian Architects in creating homes that utilize energy positively and efficiently. By energy, what I mean is all kinds of energy.
At A4D Architecture, we offer house plans designed considering vasthu factors. One can read more details about the process of building a home and the budgeting involved.
Do Architects follow Vastu Principles and Guides?
Some many principles and guides serve to polish and fine-tune Vastu Shastra in the way it is needed at every unique place. One can meet and discuss this with your Architect about How you want your house to be designed as per Vastu principles.
Vastu Shastra is not constant. It’s Dynamic and keeps changing from one room to another.
The way the sun rises in one place may not be the same; it rises in another place. This is the fundamental reason why Vastu Shastra is not just a set of rules or traditions that are to be followed. If you are having a site in Bengaluru and want to know the cost involved to build your dream house, visit our home page for details.
Why do Architects Need to design House plans as per Vastu?
Many guidelines followed in Vastu Shastra have been developed for the common person to maximize his way of life through simple things. The home is the place of comfort for its inhabitants becomes the spot where they open their minds and become vulnerable and open to thought.
The factors and elements that affect this thought process inside the house are of essential importance in Vastu.
This involves the play of light and how it adjusts with our workflow in each room and each part of the house, how certain colors work to power the mind, etc.
Ask yourself? If you need to design or follow Vastu?
It‘s more of a personal choice than a wide range of questions to Architects all around. Vastu in India may not be the same as the Vastu abroad. For these reasons, Vastu’s guidelines have to be adhered to with complete knowledge of their cause.
There are many reasons and principles in Vastu Shastra that are commonly known to have more of a cultural and superstitious reason than a scientific one.
There are plenty of guides with a scientific explanation, although many of those principles are beyond scientific explanation or observation and appear to be mere superstition.
For this reason, most people do try to avoid Vastu construction. Although the fact remains that if you stick to the reasons, you will end up adhering to Vastu principles.
Vastu, in that sense, is also not all that simple to complete, and the professionals who claim to know it these days also try to focus their services towards clients that are willing to pay more than help the commoner, which is the way most Indian practices are supposed to work.
Overall conclusions Do Architects follow Vastu Shastra?
YES, knowing Vastu principles not only enhance the spectrum of vision of the architects in planning structures in all kinds of atmospheric as well as spiritual/psychological environments but also make them capable as architects to conform to their client’s needs in whatever way they need to stay on top of their profession.
In the end, it’s your house that’s going to be designed. Hence it’s up to you What you decide will be implemented!
Hi Team,
I am a regular visitor of your website and its very informative.
I liked this article which explains the importance of Architects to follow Vastu Shastra principles.
A few years back I had built my house in Bangalore which was not planned as per Vastu and I had to get it renovated in such a way that my new kitchen position comes in the Southeast corner.
If my Architect had planned my house as per Vastu principles, I wouldn’t have required a renovation and additional expenses.
Hence, I strongly feel that Architects should follow Vastu principles and also educate the client the importance of it.
Thank you again,
Amith Rai
